Justina Fischer

Justina Fischer (b. 1972, Poland) is a visual artist based in Bonn, Germany. Her work is defined by a long-term exploration of the tension between structure and dissolution, a theme she examines through painting, experimental printmaking, and drawing.

Fischer’s artistic practice is rooted in a dialogue between internal and external worlds, exploring identity, natural transitions, and the delicate balance of order and chaos. Her journey began in the early 1990s in Poland, where she developed her foundational skills through self-directed research and participation in various local art projects. After relocating to Germany in 2002, she continued to refine her visual language through extensive international workshops and seminars.

In 2016, she shifted her focus toward experimental printmaking, specifically etching and drypoint, under the mentorship of Petra Siering and Hilda van Overveld-Priew. This period of technical investigation laid the groundwork for her current, deeply layered approach to surface and composition. Since 2024, Fischer has been formalizing her practice through intensive studies in painting and drawing at the Arte Fact Freie Kunstakademie Bonn. In 2025, she was awarded the 2nd Audience Prize at The Stage Gallery (Bonn) and opened her private studio, marking a significant chapter of professional visibility in the Rhineland art scene.
